The IC693CPU341 is a single-socket CPU formerly manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation and now owned by Emerson Automation. This CPU is an 80C188XL, 20 MHz processor with a Boolean execution speed of 0.3 milliseconds per 1K of logic (Boolean contacts). It is a modular hardware type with 80 KB of built-in user memory and supports up to 512 discrete inputs, 512 discrete outputs, 1024 analog input words, and 256 analog outputs. In addition, the IC693CPU341 has 1280 bits of discrete global memory (%G); 1024-bit internal coil (%M); 256-bit output (temporary) coil (%T); 128-bit system status reference (%S, %SA, %SB, %SC) with 32 bits and 9999 register memory per memory region (%R). The CPU provides more than 2000 timers with support for shift registers, interrupt, and override instructions. It has a battery backup clock and is compatible with PCM/CCM memory. The IC693CPU341 has no embedded memory, and the serial communication ports supporting SNP and SNP-X protocols are hosted by the power module. In addition, the IC693CPU341 supports optional communication modules including Ethernet, FIP, Profibus, GBC, GCM and GCM+ option modules. The IC693CPU341 supports a configuration of up to five backboards, including one CPU backboard and four (4) expansion and/or remote I/O backboards. The CPU requires 5 mA of a 490 VDC power supply, while the operating temperature requirements are 0 to 60 degrees Celsius or 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

The IC693CPU341 module is a GE Fanuc CPU module with a main frequency of 20 MHZ. The IC693CPU341 module is designed and developed for the 90-30 series of programmable logic controllers. The user memory provided on the IC693CPU341 module is 80 KB. Earlier versions of the module supported RAM and optional EPROM or EEPROM. Starting with hardware version IC693CPU341-J and firmware version 4.61, this CPU module only supports RAM and optional flash memory. The IC693CPU341 module can be installed in slot 1 of the 5-slot baseboard system. The microprocessor on which the module is based is the 90C188XL microprocessor. The power requirement for this module is 490 MA (5 volts DC). The average scan rate of the module is 0.3 ms per 1K of logic. The IC693CPU341 module supports 512 discrete outputs and 512 discrete inputs. Register memory is 9999 words.

The integrated serial port on the IC693CPU341 module uses an interface connector located on the PLC power supply. Optional network communication modules include Ethernet, GBC and FIP modules. GE Fanuc offers two types of CPU modules for the 90-30 series PLC, namely modular and embedded cpus. Embedded CPU models include Type 311, Type 313, and Type 323. The main advantage of embedded cpus is their relatively low cost. Modular cpus, on the other hand, are less cost-effective, but they offer higher performance than embedded cpus. Modular cpus include Model 331 and higher. All modular cpus, including the IC693CPU341 module, are installed in slot 1 of the PLC baseboard. Except for special option modules, slot 1 cannot be used for other module types that are not CPU modules.
