1756-A4 ControlLogix chassis with four (4) slots Electronic keying is available

No.1756-A4
The Allen-Bradley 1756-A4 is a ControlLogix chassis with four (4) slots. The case is used to house the ControlLogix and contains the partner module, and provides backplane power through the supplied electronic circuit, which also serves as a local bus connection. It weighs 0.75 kg (1.7 lb) and measures 50.8 x 50.8 x 20.3 cm (20 x 20 x 8 in).

Desciption

The Allen-Bradley 1756-A4 is a ControlLogix chassis. It is a 4-slot ControlLogix case with a power consumption of 1.8W. It measures 50.8 x 50.8 x 20.3 cm (20 x 20 x 8 inches). It weighs 1.7 pounds. It is mounted horizontally inside the panel and has an open housing. Its maximum backplane currents are 1.5 A (1.2 V DC), 4 A (3.3 V DC), 15 A (5.1 V DC), and 2.8 A (24 V DC).

The chassis backplane provides high-speed communication paths between modules and distributes power to each module in the chassis.

The 1756-A4 standard chassis features power off Remove and Insert (RIUP) for easy maintenance. To prevent replacement errors, it also offers electronic keying.

The 1746-A4 is an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix chassis that can be installed into ControlLogix module processors, IO modules, communication adapters, dedicated modules, smart modules, including partner and third-party modules.

The 1746-A4 has four (4) slots. In addition to providing module mounting slots, the case also houses an electronic backplane to which the backplane power is distributed to power any module connected to a single chassis slot.

The chassis also provides installation methods for the system power supply. The system power supply is not included in the slot count because the power supply is installed outside the case via the provided power interface. As a four (4) slot case, the lowest rated ControlLogix power supply is capable of powering modules connected to it.

The ControlLogix chassis also supports distributed applications. For distributed applications, I/O modules can be installed on a chassis remote from the processor. This prevents the installation of separate signal cables for home runs. For distributed applications, the distributed I/O channel does not have a processor, but instead has a communication adapter installed on the required ControlLogix module. Any chassis within the ControlLogix system can be used as a distributed I/O chassis, including the 1756-A4. Each case requires a separate system power supply.

The ControlLogix chassis comes with other chassis variants, including the 1756-A7, 1756-A10, and 1746-A13 and 1756-A17.
