Allen-Bradley 1756-RMC3 is an essential component in the assembly of the ControlLogix redundant programmable controller system. After the chassis pair and its components are installed, this optical fiber communication cable is used as a connector for the ControlLogix redundancy module. It is part of a Bulletin 1756-RMCx cable of different lengths. These redundant cables are not packaged with the module and should be ordered separately before starting to build the controller system.
The 1756-RMC3 Redundancy module cable is suitable for standard and extreme environment models of ControlLogix redundancy modules. It is 3 meters or 9.84 feet long and comes with a protective cover. The cable is connected to the bottom of the module and placed downward. Because it is composed of optical fibers, sharp bending of the cable should be avoided. LC connector couplers can be placed between transmit and receive connectors. This helps prevent cable bending and makes connecting and disconnecting quick and easy.
Install the 1756-RMC3 fiber optic connector in a strategic manner to protect it from damage, cutting, crushing and wear. Redundant wiring tolerates failure on a single channel. However, problems on both channels can lead to unpredictable network operations. Route trunk cables separately to reduce the risk of damage to both. With a redundant cable system, the system uses the network when the cable deteriorates or fails.
