The AI895 analog input module can be connected directly to a 2-wire transmitter, and with a specific connection,  it can also be connected to a 4-wire transmitter without losing HART function. The AI895 analog input module has 8  channels. The module contains intrinsically safe protection components on each channel for connecting process equipment  to hazardous areas without the need for additional external equipment. Each channel can power and monitor two-wire  process transmitters and HART communications. The input voltage drop for current inputs is typically 3 V (including  PTC). Transmitter power supplies in each channel are capable of delivering a minimum of 15 V/20 mA loop current to power  Ex certified process transmitters, limited to 23 mA under overload conditions.
The TU890 and TU891 compact MTU can be used with this module to connect two wires to process equipment without  additional terminals. The TU890 is for explosion-proof applications and the TU891 is for non-explosion-proof  applications.
